I've been home a little over a week and it has been a combination of super fun and uber boringness. Most of the time if I'm bored, it's because I'm all by myself and I feel like I should be doing something more than just sitting around watching tv, though I know that's totally acceptable during a summer vacation.
Nevertheless, the main source of joy and fun on this little get away trip has come from my big brother, Sammy Duwhammy! hehehe. We hung out several times, watched movies, listened to music, gone dancing, and had a party. On his lunch breaks he stops by, I make him lunch, and we watch Judge Mathis. It's so good to be home and to be able to spend so much time with him. This past semester has been rather rough on our relationship and I was worried that we were growing apart. But being home, we picked up right where we left off. It feels in a way as though I never left. I love that.
I most excited about the progress and growth that I'm seeing in him. He is really focused, working two jobs, and being super responsible. He even has a bank account now! I think that's awesome. I remember the days when he didn't believe in bank accounts. lol. I'm very proud of him. Also, I see him maturing emotionally and relationship-wise. He's coming to understand that having a bunch of friends isn't important and that it's better to have close friends, if even they are only one or two. For so long he clung to relationships that were not important and I saw how much they hurt him. But now he's able to let them go and that's very good.
Yet he's still the wild, crazy, and wonderful person that I love so much. We were eating lunch today and he didn't the wierdest thing! He took the chip clip and clipped it to his nipple. I just kind of looked at him. I really couldn't believe that he had just did that. And then he just smirks and says, "it doesn't really hurt." What do you do with that?! I just burst out laughing. He's so wierd!!! But I love him. Yay brothers!
