God Works in Mysterious Ways

When I moved to Illinois I was slightly nervous that I wouldn't be able to find a church and that of course would lead to a spiritual decline and that would just be all sorts of bad. However, God is awesome, faithful, and always takes care of His children.

My roommate Tracey is a christian and she totally rocks. Through her I found The Vineyard, the church I now attend, and from there life has just blossomed. On my first day there I went to the little after service, new comers welcome area. I met Bob and Kelley, a wonderful sweet couple whom lead the small group I'm in. I also met Claire. Claire is another Theatre Grad and she's focusing on Stage Management, of which I have to give her props because wow... it takes a really incredible and strong person to do that. Claire and I have become instant friends. It's nice knowing there are other christians in theatre and that we're not alone. We pray for each other, go to church together, and now we're going to be having our own little Theatre Bible Studies/Prayer Sessions. She's awesome.

Claire knows another Stage Manager. His name is Adam. They're friends and through her, God has brought Adam to church and he's now a christian. Yay! (happy dance) She also knows another guy from Krannert named Nick. The other day randomly she felt in her spirit the need to pray for him, unbeknownst by me.

Now I don't personally know Nick, but I've seen him a lot in the building and I think he's really cute. Well the other day, last wednesday, I walked by his office and as my stomach gnotted, I stopped, and asked if he'd like to have coffee with me sometime. Now all of you know I despise coffee, but I do enjoy tea, cocoa, and cider, so I'm sure one of those will be there too. Nevertheless, coffee is safe and not generally too long. To my surprise, he accepted! So this coming Wednesday at 8 am (ugh) we're going to have coffee together.

I told Claire about it last night after church and she got really excited. I don't know why all these pieces are falling into place and what the Lord is working on, but I'm sure it's going to be something awesome. Claire and I are getting together tomorrow to pray together, at the coffee place. I know I want to pray for her, I want to pray for Adam, we'll pray for Nick, and I'll pray that the Lord can use me effectively and I don't let my emotions and such get in the way. I'm really energized by all this. The Lord could totally sweep through Krannert and touch so many lives. Maybe Claire and I are the venues for that to happen. We'll see.
