A Steady Rain
Current mood: nostalgic

Wow! What a show! "A Steady Rain" was our final full production in the Powerhouse Theatre. It's a play about two chicago cops who have been friends since they were kids. The first character is Denny, a family guy, rough, tough, blunt, and loud. The other character is Joey, a bachelor, an alcoholic, quiet, sensitive and struggling to stay afloat. Denny sees Joeys struggles and takes him under his wing, inviting him home and showing Joey the good life. Through a series of events involving a pimp named Walter, we see a transition and shift of roles in Denny and Joey. Denny rapidly spirals and descends madly out of control while Joey steps up to pick up the peices left behind by Denny.
Throughout the play the characters Denny and Joey speak directly to the audience and on occasion interact with each other; i.e. duo monologues. "A Steady Rain" is such a well written play and I know it's going to make it to Broadway. It's such a phenomical play.

Denny was played by the very energetic Mr. Josh Stamberg. While Joey was played by the very James Dean-esque, Adam Rothemberg. They were perfect in their depictions of the "Steady Rain" characters. I spent two and half weeks of my life being totally dedicated to these two men as their wardrobe person. They both are very funny, charming, and handsome. It was such a pleasure working with Josh and Adam. I hope the best for them and can't wait till we meet again. It was really sad when the show ended, I cried a little. But it was a good experience and I'm very proud to have been a part of it.
