Disc Golf
I had a most interesting experience. I hung out with my friends Jayme, Mike, and Kevin. We really didn't know what to do, but Mike thought that we should go Disc Golfing. Now, I had never been Disc Golfing before and was quite up for it. I thought it would definately be something fun to try.
So we all piled into Kevin's car and headed out to Lewisville where they knew of a good Disc Golf Course. For those of you who don't know, Disc Golf (aka Frisbee Golf), is basically like the game of Golf but you use frisbees instead and try to get them into this little cage/cup thing.
It was a beautiful day out yesterday. It wasn't too hot neither was it too cold. There was quite a bit of wind, but that just made things interesting. At first I had no idea what I was doing. I'm not that good at throwing frisbees. But After a while I got the hang of it and it would go decently a good distance. Mike and Kevin however totally kicked butt! They would toss their frisbees and they would go forever. It was awesome. At one of the holes, we all thought that Kevin was going to get a hole in one! It was so close.
Mike had brought a bag to carry the Putter (which is a slightly heavier frisbee used when you're really close to the cage). Also, he had a towel in case the frisbees got wet if you hit them into water or something. At one point, Kevin had another one of those awesome throws but it went a little too far and landed in a ditch full of water and mud. So he grabbed the towel and tramped down into the little ditch. As he was wiping off his disc, he dropped the towel! It fell right into the water! We all just laughed at Kevin and didn't let him live it down the rest of the game. So the poor towel is still there in the ditch.
We didn't keep score. We were just playing for fun. But if we were, Kevin and Mike definately would have won. It was still fun either way. It was good to just get out and do something different. I like Disc Golf. I'm going to have to play it more often.
