Surprise Visit
So I was just sitting here at my house, not doing a whole lot, when my phone rang. I didn't recognize the phone number and just answered it. It was David. We had talked earlier online and seemed to be trying to work things out between us.
Dave: Can you talk?
Me: Right now? Sure I guess.
Dave: Then come outside.
Me: Are you here?
Dave: Why would I ask you to go outside if I wasn't?
Me: Oh. Wow. Ok. Give me a sec.
So I walked out to the front and there was David. We kind of stood there awkwardly for a second and then he commented on the cold and asked if we could go inside. We went in and sat at the dinner table. I really didn't know what to say, I wasn't sure where to begin or what I needed to say. But after a while it all came back to me and I was able to voice what I had been feeling. It was good to hear his side of the story and to be able to give him mine. A lot of what happened was miscommunication, stupid choices, hurt feelings, anger, and stress from finals. Nonetheless, I think we were able to work through our problems. For a while I did not want to be his friend and he wasn't worth it. But that's just part of being friends. Sometimes you hurt each other but what makes you friends is being able to move past it. The fact that David even came to see me shows that he does care about me and our friendship. If he didn't, he wouldn't have bothered. Hopefully this is the first step to rebuilding our friendship.
