David = Pain
For the past couple months I've been dating my friend David. He's an engineering major, hockey playing, simpson quoting, car fixing kind of guy. We have alot of fun together watching movies, watching tv, watching hockey .... wait, there's a pattern here. We do more than just watch stuff. We actually do stuff too. We've been dancing, gone to the park, gone out to eat, and stuff like that. Usual date kind of things. However, there is another pattern developing. It seems that when I'm with David, I get injured in some way. Seriously! I don't know what it is, but that's the growing trend.
Once when we were at the park we played Frisbee. So I'm not very athletic and get embarrassed very easily. Of course I was trying to be cute and trying not to totally humiliate myself. Yeah right! As it is my life, quite the opposite happens. David chunks the frisbee at me (he says he threw it soft but I highly doubt that) and it beans me right in the face! Oh yeah you heard me...er, read me. He smacked me right in my mouth with the frisbee. Immediately I turn bright red (not b/c I was in pain or anything) but from being totally inept when it comes to playing sports. He felt bad.. but it's still fun to tease him about it. Course it really isn't something I should bring up to often... definately not my finest hour.
Recently David and I attended a minor league hockey game. We had great seats too! Right behind the glass, behind where the team sat. There were alot of people and excitement was in the air. Both teams were playing hard and doing well. There were a couple good fights and plenty of action to watch. We were having a good time and then the second period ended. During the 'intermission' some girls on the ice (budwieser girls or something) were throwing free stuff out into the crowd. That's when it happened. She tossed one of those cheesy seat cushions into the crowd in our direction. The people behind us missed the stupid thing and it back tracked and slammed into my head. So is my head some kind of target or something? Is there a bright yellow blinking sign above it screaming "Hit me!" ? Not only did the cushion hit me, it scraped two huge cuts into my forehead. The bastard stung really bad and when i went to touch it, it was bleeding! David tried to help and told me it was simply red and didn't look bad. But when I checked in the mirror, it was horrid. So I went through the rest of the game with two bright red scrapes blazing smack dab on my exposed forehead. I think it's time to invest in a helmet of some kind.
