My Last Night in Dallas - The VNV Nation Concert
Now where was I?.. ah yes, I got to meet Ronan. After getting his picture and autograph they began letting us all into the club. Sam and I bee lined to the merchanidise area to scope out the different things they had. Then, Sam bought us Cherry Vodka Sours and we made our way to the stage. It was great, we made it easily to the front row and held our positions. We talked with our friends, found old aquantances, and spoke with other people who were slowly but surely filling up the audience space.
I forget the name of the first band that played. Well.. it really wasn't a band so much as a guy playing on his laptop. hehehe. The crowd no doubt still were excited and quickly got into the music. I, however, did not have the best time. Being in the front row next to how many odd speakers there were while Power Noise Bass serges throughout your body is not the best environment for me. By heart freaked out and I couldn't breathe. I thought I was going to pass out, but Sam noticed that something was wrong and pulled me back a couple rows. Away from the full impact of soundwaves crashing through my body, I was able to now enjoy the music. I really don't like Power Noise music, but this stuff wasn't too bad. And being at a VNV Nation concert, I really didn't care. I was having fun! We danced a little but mainly made fun of the guy playing. He was sporting a black top and black vinyl pants. The pants had a white stripe that ran down the outseam of each leg and resembled to me and my friends, jogging pants but made out of vinyl. To top it off, the guy was bouncing around and so energized that he seriously looked like he had come straight out of an exercise video. We all laughed at our joke and discussed that perhaps he should make his own Goth Work Out Video. I bet there would be a market for that. hahaha!
After the Power Noise guy finished playing I made my way back up to the front hoping fervently that when VNV came on I wouldn't have to move away from stage. I love VNV and I wanted so desperately to be front row for the concert. Imperative Reaction was coming on next and I couldn't wait to see them. It had been about a year since the last time they had come to our area. Last year they played at Arlington at Mythos at Division One. I remember that night really well. It had been a rather fun evening. Sam and I had planned to go, though at the time I didn't remember what the band name even was. Sam just wanted to take me out and have me hear some really awesome bands. One night when I had been talking with Brek, he mentioned that he would be going to see some little concert in Arlington. Next thing I realize.. we'd be going to the same thing. I was so excited about being able to spend time with Brek. We had only known each other for a couple weeks then but I still really liked him. We had fun that night. During Imperative's first song, Brek and I had held each other close. After which, we couldn't resist. We danced the hell out of that concert. Everyone at the concert was dancing. The energy was so high, the music was so awesome, it was a great show. Brek had asked me to come home with him that night to watch a movie. Oh I wanted to so bad. I didn't want to leave, I just wanted to stay with Brek. But I wouldn't have had a ride to get back to Sam's, let alone my place. So I couldn't. I wonder still sometimes, what would have happened had I gone back with Brek? .....
Imperative had finished setting up and their concert began. They started with my favorite song of theirs, the very first song I had ever heard from them before, the very first song they had played at their last show, when Brek had held me so close. The same energy was there and we all danced, and jumped and I sang. This time though, I actually was watching the band. I got to see what they all looked like, I got to see Tom. Hahaha it was so kewl. Everything was as good as I was hoping and everything was going so smoothly... till the song ended. Everything stopped, Imperative Reaction's computer crashed.

My Last Night In Dallas
I just moved to California as you all well know. I'm really enjoying it so far here but there is still a part of me that misses Dallas. So much of my life was in Dallas and it holds so many memories. I absolutely love Dallas.
Well.. to the Point. I want to talk about my last night in Dallas. It will definately be a night to remember. A few weeks prior to my depature date my departure date, my brother called me with a big surprise. He told me that Assemblage 23 would be coming to town again as well as Imperative Reaction. These are bands that I absolutely love! They are great industrial bands. Then he hit me with an even bigger surprise...
Sam- "Guess who else is coming?"
Me- "Uh.. who?" **in great anticipation**
Sam- "VNV"
Me- **stunned silence**.... "WHEN!?"
Sam- "Some time at the end of May.. or maybe middle May"
Me- "Oh man you've got to be kidding me!" **suddenly fear stricken as I would be leaving Dallas on May 16th that I might once again miss the concert**
Once I got home later that night i discovered that the concert was May 15th! I couldn't believe it. It seemed as though all the peices were fitting into place and I was so excited! I immediately bought my ticket. I then realized.. Brek is going to be there. VNV would be playing and Imperative would be one of their opening bands. Brek wouldn't be missing this. Again, a knot of fear welled up in my stomach. I was going to see Brek on my last night in Dallas. It was a sure thing. We haven't spoken in months.. almost a year.
Nevertheless.. time went by and swiftly the date came. My last night in Dallas. I was at my parents.. trying to get everything done swiftly since Sam and I had to be in Dallas by 7 to get in line for the concert. I was extremely cute that night. I wore my newest corset, one of my cute short skirts. (tired to remember which one)..... , and my black boots, naturally. I had just gotten my hair done about a week ago so it was short, spikey, and uber-black. Instead of my usual gel or hair spray that night, I wore my hair wax which I hadn't worn in months. Upon smelling it's familiar scent I began to tear up. It's what I used to wear when I was with Brek, when Brek and I were friends. It was the smell that he recognized as me and the one that lingered on him after the first night we had met. In fact, he had woken up the next morning to that scent and for a split second had thought he had brought me home with him. heh heh. I figured that by wearing this if I saw him, he'd be able to make another scent memory, it might tug at his heart strings a bit, and well.. it would be recognizable.
So Sam and I got to Dallas around 7 and were about 3rd in line. It was great. I was so excited. VNV Nation is my most favorite band, running a very close tie to Apoptygma Berzerk. I of course was all a wiggle and scoping out all the people who were there. Our friend Tommy was there and we hung out and talked with her. Eventually, Amber and AJ showed up and we talked with them. People were walking out about getting prepared for the show and then Mark the drummer for VNV walked by. I about melted! lol. I couldn't believe it. I've been wanting to see this band for so long. I've watched their DVD numerous times, own all their Cd's, sport one of their stickers on my car, and just love thier music. We were all so giddy, mainly me. Of course then Ronan (VNV's lead man) was outside of the the big RV thing. Sam dragged me over to him to meet him. He is so adorable and so awesome. I got a picture with him and he autographed my ticket! I was so excited .... (To be Continued!)
